In Cheltenham Jennifer Fowlie competed against 23 FameLab finalists from countries all over the world including South Africa, Egypt, Hong Kong, Australia, Romania and South Korea. Unfortunately she didi not make it to the international final.
At the Swiss FameLab final 2014 in Moods in Zurich nine participants competed for the possibility to represent Switzerland at the international FameLab competition. The Scottish physicist Jennifer Fowlie (University of Geneva) was selected by the jury to travel to the Cheltenham Science Festival in June. The audience prize went to Simone Bottans.
Ten Swiss finalists participated in the FameLab master class that was held together with the national finalists from the French FameLab competitions. The master class offered the finalists specialist communication training and this was conducted by the two British professionals Quentin Cooper and Timandra Harkness.
For the Swiss semi-final in Geneva which took place on 27 March in the Globe at CERN, sixteen participants registered. The jury awarded the first prize to Philippe Kobel. Giovanni Porcellana and Jennifer Fowlie were the winners of the audience prize.
