The first Swiss FameLab final took place in the bar bookshop sphères in Zurich. The ten best young scientists from Geneva/Lausanne and Zurich competed for the first prize: a performance at the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK.
After the great success of FameLab competitions in more than 15 countries across 3 continents, Switzerland has now decided to come aboard. In this competition in science popularisation, young scientists from the public and private sector have 3 minutes to present their research in an entertaining and original way, understandable to a broad audience. Winners of the regional competitions in Zurich and Geneva will receive prizes and attend a weekend workshop in science communication, which will prepare them to convince the judges and audience at the national finals in Zurich.
